Olkineva

A 180 MWp solar power plant and an associated battery energy storage system (BESS) are planned for the Olkineva area in Siikajoki.

The Olkineva project area is located approximately ten kilometres southwest of the centre of Siikajoki. The project area covers approximately 207 hectares, most of which is currently agricultural land, while part of the area consists of forest.

The project is currently in its early planning phase. An initiative to launch the zoning process is planned to be submitted to the Municipality of Siikajoki for consideration towards the end of 2026. If the project progresses as planned, construction could begin at the earliest in 2028.
