Skarta Energy has completed the sale of the Callio solar park in Pyhäsalmi to Solarigo Systems. As a result of the transaction, the project company Callio-Hitura Solarpark Oy and the ownership of the Pyhä salmi solar park were transferredin their entirety to Solarigo on 16 March 2026.
The solar park was completed in the summer of 2025, and it was built in a disused tailings pond. The project has been an example of good cooperation and how old mining areas can be utilised in the production of renewable energy. Solarigo will continue to develop the project with the implementation of the electricity storage facility and will be responsible for the operation of the solar park. The project is part of the larger Callio industrial and circular economy area, which aims to utilise the mining area’s infrastructure as a platform for new, low-carbon industry and energy production. Callio-Hitura Solarpark is also developing the solar park and electricity storage project of the Hitura mine in Nivala, the implementation of which will be decided later.
For Skarta Energy, the sale is a natural part of its strategy to focus on projects with more than 50 MWp in areas with the highest solar radiation.
