Laivakangas

A 60 MWp industrial-scale solar power plant is being planned for Tornio. The location of the solar power plant is planned to be a soil extraction area in the Kyläjoki area, which has already been partially decommissioned. The Arctio North industrial area is planned next to the area. The size of the project area is approximately 80 hectares.

The necessary environmental and nature surveys will be carried out during 2025. If the project progresses according to plan, construction can begin in 2026. If implemented, the solar power plant’s energy production could start during 2027.
