Laivakangas

A 60 MWp industrial-scale solar power plant is being planned for Tornio. The location of the solar power plant is planned to be a soil extraction area in the Kyläjoki area, which has already been partially decommissioned. The Arctio North industrial area is planned next to the area. The size of the project area is approximately 80 hectares.

An environmental impact assessment procedure will be launched for the project at the beginning of 2026. The EIA is scheduled to be completed at the beginning of 2027, and construction is scheduled to begin in 2027.
