Hitura

A solar farm with a panel capacity of 63.5 MWp is planned at the Hitura mine in Nivala in vacant mining area. The purpose of the project is to create preconditions for harnessing vacant mining infrastructure in the Nordic countries for the production of renewable solar energy. In addition, an electricity storage facility is planned in connection with the solar farm.

The permit process for Hitura is underway. It is possible to start the implementation of the project only after the mining district has been wound up. At the earliest, this could happen during the first half of 2024.
