A solar farm of 102.5 MWp, or approximately 80 MWa (connecting power), is being constructed for Isosuo in Utajärvi, an area of approximately 133 hectares.
Once completed, the farm will produce approximately 97 GWh of renewable solar power per year, which corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 16,000 households. In addition, a 5 MW battery storage facility is planned in connection with the park.
The internal network being built for the area will be implemented in cooperation with SmartGrid technology, with the help of the international, EU-funded GLogalFlex project led by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.
The site being built at Isosuo is Finland’s first solar farm to be connected to the Fingrid main grid.
The investment decision was done in the beginning of December 2023 and the construction work was started in the beginning of 2024.
