The construction of Isosuo solar park in Utajärvi proceeds fast

The Isosuo solar park in Utajärvi is now rising rapidly. Of the total 170,000 panels, about 5% is already installed. This means dozens of east-west rows on an area of 140 hectares. The panels are on racks in two layers and at an angle of 30 degrees. Once completed, the park will produce approximately 97 GWh of renewable solar electricity per year, which corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 16,000 households. Once completed, the Utajärvi solar park will be one of the largest solar parks in Finland.

The work began in January with preparatory groundwork and the actual construction work began in early spring. The first panels were installed at the turn of April and May. In addition to the installation and cabling of the panels, a substation and an underground cable connection to the Utanen substation will be built in the area, through which electricity will be connected to the grid. Nearly 100 people are currently working on the site.

"We always try to make use of local installation resources whenever possible. This will improve employment and vitality in the region."

The construction will take two years and the park is planned to be commissioned in phases, so that the complex will be completed during the first half of 2026.
